What is Universal Design for Learning (UDL)?

 Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a method of teaching and learning that ensures that all students have an equal chance of succeeding. It's easier to grasp what UDL isn't than it is to explain what it is. You can be confused by the word universal. It may appear that Universal Design for Learning is about finding a single technique to teach all pupils. UDL, on the other hand, adopts the opposite strategy. The purpose of UDL is to remove any obstacles to learning using a range of instructional modalities. It's all about incorporating flexibility that may be tailored to each individual's skills and requirements. As a result, UDL is beneficial to all students.
